Tower Defense
So, I got this new game for the iPhone called FieldRunners, which is basically your typical tower defense game (familiar if you played Starcraft or Warcraft in the hay day of computer games). As I’m writing this post, I’m simultaneously playing the game. What that should say to you is that once you’ve got the strategy down, it’s pretty easy.
That’s not to say that it’s not fun. The fun of course, is figuring out the strategy- but as I said, once you’ve it nailed, pretty much all you have to do is make sure your screen doesn’t go black, or that the game doesn’t completely wipe out your battery.
So, for those of you that are not familiary with TD games, I’ll give you the breakdown:
As the player of the game, your role is to guard an object (in Warcraft, often times it’s a ship that the enemy is trying to get to, in Fieldrunners it’s just a door they’re trying to get to) by building defending towers. At a specific interval of time, there will be “runners” sent through your defenses. If you’re defenses take everyone out, good for you! If they do not, you’ll begin to see your life tick away; as every runner that makes it through will cost you one life.
However, every runner that you take out, gives you cash! Woohoo! Use the moneyz you’ve received to upgrade your towers, as each time you advance a round, the runners get more difficult to defeat.
Sound easy? It’s not usually, but it’s so much fun.
